The significance of the establishment of the security scenario library for the current application and future development of intelligent connected vehicle and automatic driving technology


 The safety certification of intelligent connected vehicles and autonomous driving is a crucial link in the commercialization of intelligent connected vehicles. At present, certification standards for intelligent connected vehicles are being explored all over the world, and the key content is to limit the scope of intelligent connected vehicle safety certification through standard scene library. The security scene library is a scene library for the safety certification of intelligent connected vehicles proposed by China's automobile industry. It will establish the safety goal of the development of intelligent connected vehicles for the industry and accelerate the industrialization of intelligent connected vehicles.


Standard development background and main content


At present, simulation test, field test and road vehicle test are known to effectively reduce the functional deficiencies of intelligent connected vehicle products and improve the safety of application.  The standardized expected functional safety scenario library can be built to analyze the system hazards, functional deficiencies and performance limitations in the process of intelligent connected vehicle system design.  At present, a variety of databases and data sets have been built in foreign countries, including PEGASUS project, NHTSA traffic accident database, Waymo autonomous driving data set, etc., but they still cannot meet the demand of scenario library for the research on the expected functional safety of intelligent connected vehicles.There is still a lack of similar or related standards for the expected functional safety scenario library in China to guide the construction of the expected functional safety scenario library of intelligent connected vehicles.  


This standard put forward automated driving security scenario expected function library construction conditions. It can stipulate for the structural of expected function security scenario library, completeness, accuracy and low redundancy, high reusability and scene description, classification, search and other technical requirements.To ensure the universality and completeness of safety in the Chinese characteristic features expected functional safety scenarios library.  The standard constructs the expected functional safety scenario library of intelligent networked vehicles from static and dynamic perspectives.From the static point of view, the static information of the scene is described structurally based on the 7-layer description framework of the expected functional safety scenario proposed by the China Intelligent And Connected Vehicle Industry Innovation Alliance - Intelligent and Connected Vehicle Expected Functional Safety Working Group "Construction Report of Intelligent and Connected Vehicle Expected Functional Safety Scenario Database".  From the dynamic point of view, the content and requirements of dynamic data in the expected functional safety scenarios are described from the aspects of trajectory information and dynamic information.  


The formulation of this standard will promote the construction and application of standardization and systematization of the expected functional safety scenario database, support the expected functional safety test of intelligent connected vehicles, accelerate the safely landing and application of intelligent connected vehicle products in China, and push the rapid and healthy development of industrial ecology.
